Hello There,
Welcome to MixMakeMusic! My name is Bethi. I’m an Elementary and Middle School Music teacher who creates engaging, ready-to-use repertoire and resources to help educators build confident, lifelong musicians. My materials focus on strong reading and ear skills, collaborative music making, and a fun, stress-free approach to music learning.
I have a Bachelor of Music and a Diploma in Music Technology, and I’ve been teaching elementary music for the past seven years. When I first began teaching, I was completely overwhelmed by the broad scope of the BC Arts Curriculum (Canada) and the lack of existing structured lesson plans to follow. Over time, I began to develop my own curriculum— refining it each year as I discovered what worked best to engage young, energetic learners in the classroom setting.

My approach prioritizes front-loading the year with well-structured routines and workbooks, reducing weekly prep time and creating a smoother experience for both teachers and students. Over time, I’ve built a catalog of resources that I’m proud to share—resources that support students in becoming confident, lifelong music-makers. These resources strengthen reading and ear skills, foster an appreciation for different musical genres, promote practice and progress over perfection, and encourage rewarding and collaborative music-making with fun play-along tracks for all exercises and repertoire.
I’m passionate about making music education accessible, engaging, and stress-free, and I hope these resources help eliminate the burden of prep while bringing more joy to your classroom!
